Benefits of Iberian ham
A product with a unique identity
Iberian ham and cured meats are part of a gastronomic tradition that is renowned for its quality and culinary value. When consumed in moderation as part of a balanced diet, they provide valuable nutrients. The nutritional content of our acorn-fed, field-fed and feed-fed products varies depending on the animals’ diet and rearing methods, giving each its own distinctive characteristics.
What our three grades of ham have in common
All our grades of Iberian ham are a rich source of proteins with high biological value, helping to maintain muscle mass and providing B vitamins, which support the healthy functioning of the nervous system.
What sets Iberian ham apart
The Iberian pig is prized for the quality and properties of its fat, particularly the presence of oleic acid, a monounsaturated fat that is also found in virgin olive oil.
Each grade corresponds to a different diet and rearing system, which are reflected in their characteristics and flavour profiles. Acorn-fed, field-fed and feed-fed pigs share the benefits inherent to the Iberian breed, offering a variety of options to enjoy everything that makes this product so special.
Mindful indulgence
At Capa Negra, we don’t see Iberian ham as an occasional treat; it is part of an overall diet that values natural produce and known provenance.
